Daily Celebrities News has in its possession, some photos of a young man believed to be the son of Ghana’s legendary boxing champion, Azumah Nelson.
According to reports, the young man is called Azumah Nelson Jnr. and he bears a striking resemblance to his dad.
Nelson Jnr. is a student of the University of Ghana, Legon and is in his final year.
Just like his father, Jnr has already taken up boxing and has fought a number of times as an amateur boxer. He is yet to turn a professional and face tougher opponents just like his dad did.
In one of the photos sighted by Daily Celebrities News, Azumah Nelson Snr and Azumah Nelson Jnr posed for a picture after one of the latter’s fights.
It appeared the older Azumah was proud of his son as he had a wide smile on his face.
Azumah Nelson Snr began his journey to greatness in 1983 when he won all four of his fights in 1983, and he started 1984 by beating Hector Cortez by a unanimous decision on March 9 in Las Vegas.
Then, on December 8 of that year, he became boxing royalty by knocking out Wilfredo Gómez in round 11 to win the WBC featherweight championship.
